Omid Jaffari is the driving force and creative vision behind Botanical Cuisine, a Melbourne-based business with three main parts: a line of gourmet organic sustainable raw vegan foods; a teaching academy that runs courses for home cooks and aspiring raw vegan chefs; and a pop-up alternative dining space. This is his first book.

Very varied vegan raw cookbook with stunning presentation

This is a very tastefully presented book, great attention to asthetics alongside a broad and well-structured introduction to raw, vegan food. I haven't tried the recipes myself yet (just received the book today) but initial thoughts after reading through the book were:
1. There are many unusual ingredients listed (though I don't see why the majority of recipes would not work using substitutions with more common ingredients)
2. The variety of recipes is significantly better / broader than I have found in other raw cookbooks
3. The book gives you a solid grasp of concepts, ingredients and technique.
It is absolutely not a beginner's guide to raw food, as another reviewer noted (so many unusual ingredients, but as a vegan, I already have a lot of these in my cupboard) but as a vegan who loves to cook and has to cook for mostly omnivores, This book looks like a great resource for learning how to cook raw food that is appetising and visually stunning, regardless of being vegan, raw, gluten-free, etc.
But the proof is in the pudding, and I haven't tried any recipes yet so I may update this rating / review in a couple of weeks.

Waste of Money

This is more of a picture book of food art. The recipes aren't practical and many of the ingredients I have never heard of before. This book is of no use to me at all. I'm sorry I bought it.
