I feel sorry for today's kids

I'm too old to worry about the coming world collapse...debt that can't be repaid, currency wars, manipulation and interventions, Ponzi schemes, criminal politicians and banksters, wars for control for the remaining oil, etc.
I've read a lot of the doom and gloom books, but none have gone into detail about the energy and population perspective like this book.
This is a well written book. I'm not an expert on how much oil and natural resources are left, but the author's predictions will give younger people something to think about.
I also recommend reading the author's views on the worlds population.

Pass the Nembutal.

Don't read this book if you can't handle too much reality.
As a tome to bookend those other great efforts to warn us about resource depletion by Kunstler and Heinberg et al it offers not even a hint of guarded optimism or hope.
It's ironic that I finished it on the very day that we gained a new Prime Minister here in Australia who's very first efforts will be to assure us all that we can go on having our cake and eating it too.
Get ready for more nonsense about sustainable growth.
Having said that I still recommend it.

Same Old Same Old

For anyone who is even slightly awake, the growth model has proven false. This book is just another compilation of the same old, same old. Yes, we have problems. Yes, we are not doing enough to fix the problems. Yes, governments are incompetent in doing what needs to be done. We don't need another book on how bad things are. We need more books on practical advice on doing things to fix the problem. You could do better than reading this book.
