About the Author
S is a crazy Canadian woman from Vancouver. She would like to tell you that when she graduated University, she made off with a fancy English degree and is actually qualified to write these stories for you, but that would be a lie—instead she made off with a science degree and was left wondering just what the hell she was going to do with it. Sure she had to write a kabillion essays, but no stories, not even short ones, nada—just a bunch of boring ‘sciencey’ stuff. Story telling is one of the few natural talents she possesses, or more likely, it’s because she’s been an avid reader since the age of four—she used to read Green Eggs and Ham to her mom and she’d read every single Babysitter’s Club by the time she was eight. And she can’t possibly credit University for her charming characters, oh no, the characters are people who live in her head and won’t be quiet. She’s had stories in her head for as far back as she can remember; even when she’d babysit her cousins and little brother and read them stories before bed, she’d read the story ‘properly’ only once, but had more fun thinking up several other possibilities for the story. Often she would daydream about other author’s characters as well as her own original characters, but she only began writing them down when she found FanFiction and saw there were other people doing what she did daily. She thought “hey! I already do that!” So she put pen to paper and produced her first work—still unpublished. But let’s answer the real question you wanna know: When did S begin writing S-E-X? The trigger ignited when she read a scene in a book which she will not name for fear the author will kill her as it was not intended to be sexual, but it was dark and sexy to her and she couldn’t get it out of her head. She looked for more content like the scene she’d read and began reading and reading and reading, until her own characters came along. It just so happened, her characters are usually men, so she writes mostly M/M, and besides it’s awesome.

This is a FUN read! If you're not too squeamish about the subject matter and open to a little more exoticism in erotic fiction (and I say why not?), dive in. I read it in one day and it was a nice little vacation from normalcy. Greatly looking forward to the next book in the series.

About the Author
GERARD THOMAS STRAUB is the author of the critically acclaimed The Sun and Moon Over Assisi: A Personal Encounter with Francis and Clare (St. Anthony Messenger Press), a book of reflections on the two saints of Assisi that earned the 2001 Catholic Press Association first place award for Spirituality—Hardcover books and was named one of Spirituality & Health magazine’s Best Spiritual Books of 2001. Mr. Straub is also the author of Dear Kate, a novel, and Salvation for Sale, a nonfictional look at the world of televangelism. Mr. Straub has had a long and distinguished career as a television producer and director. He produced, wrote and directed We Have a Table for Four Ready, a documentary film on the St. Francis Inn, a soup kitchen in the slums of Philadelphia operated by Franciscan friars, and Room Enough for Joy, a documentary film that tells the story of L’Arche community in Tacoma, Washington. Mr. Straub also directed Glidepath to Recovery, a documentary film that showcases the work of a diocesan priest in Albany, New York, who works with drug addicts and ex-convicts. The three films have aired on many PBS stations. Mr. Straub has also produced numerous television shows for CBS, NBC and ABC, including the wildly popular soap opera General Hospital. Gerard Thomas Straub has given us all a gift in the work of his book, When Did I See You Hungry? Through my eyes as a volunteer missionary nurse to many third world countries, I can attest to the visions one sees in this marvelous book. The pictures themselves tell the stories. As you look into the eyes of our brothers and sisters you see Christ. Straub has depicted this sincerely and with compassion.
I have given this book as gifts to many friends and family members. Some are saddened by the pictures, others are curious. A few are speechless.
It is not until you reach out your hands and touch the lives of those around you will you know what it is like to ask, "When Did I See You Hungry?"
After reading this book, if one does not find compassion deep within them, they are ones looking to be fed.

Stephanie Glen's Excel Statistics: Step by Step is a valuable tool and a real confidence-builder for any beginning statistics student or anyone who wants to learn how to use Excel's statistical functionality. She methodically explains each function and application so that even the beginning student can get a handle on processing complex calculations that Excel handles with ease. The author explains that while Excel is a great spreadsheet, it is not the ideal or most advanced program for statistical analysis. However, she points out that Excel certainly beats the hefty cost of more advanced statistical software packages that are well outside the price range of what most students and non-professionals are willing to spend. With this book, Glen shows you how to maximize the value of Excel for statistics.

This book is really two books in one because it explains step-by-step the functionality for Excel 2013, and Excel 2007 thru Excel 2010 in two separate sections. Demonstrations on using Excel for creating graphic representations of your statistical outcomes are another fine touch in a highly worthwhile tool for any aspiring student of statistics. Didn't know I could do so much with Excel

Microsoft Excel has long been my favorite computer program: as a Merchandising major, Excel is very necessary in completing any number of financial reports or analyses. Statistics in Excel, however, was a daunting and new task for me. Luckily, I happened upon this book and thought I'd give it a try to help me deliver my statistical analyses better using Excel.

This book was VERY helpful in my use of Excel 2007 since I have always used 2003 in the past, and since I've gotten 2007 I've had some confusion. It gives step-by-step, helpful instructions so you can't possibly get lost - and believe me, if anyone could I could! It even helps you make the professional-looking graphs that set your worksheets and reports apart from your peers. After getting this book, I love using Excel in my work and school even more and feel better equipped to deal with the statistics work that's coming my way.

I used to use Microsoft Excel extensively in a previous job. After that, my skills deteriorated due to lack of practice. I attempted to use the Office 2010 to do something I had usually easily done before with 2003, but the new version was significantly different. I was lucky to have found this little book. It solved my problems and in about 10 minutes. With this Excel quick guide, it was a piece of cake to understand the new version. It is well worth the price.

Solid Principles, but needs a little more information

I thoroughly enjoyed this book on voice. In fact, I've read at least a dozen books on singing in the past year and only cared for a few. This was one of them. This book has solid principles that work. The main focus is on breath support, which should be the foundation of all singing. I know of many methods that kind of throw breathing and support out the door, thinking they'll "just happen". That is such a mistake. This is the first book I've seen in awhile to address this subject correctly.

For the breath technique alone, the book is well worth the price. But, I also loved the part where the author discussed the health benefits of singing and thought it was quite interesting to know

It was a fun, easy, quick read and would be good for kids because of the author's writing style and multiple refer4ences to what he calls the "Vocal Power Team" to be used by all "Vocal Warriors". I would have given the book a 5 star but there were a few things I thought were lacking:

* The section on vibrato just didn't explain it well to me. I understand vibrato and the principles were there, but I am hoping the author expands on it and explains a little deeper how it can be developed instead of just leading towards it will naturally happen. Yes it should naturally happen but some people need more guidance.

* He discusses some common terms like "sing from the diaphragm", "sing in your high voice", "Open up the throat", which was very nice but a few of the points I didn't totally agree with.

* I understand he offers a vocal exercise MP3 from his site as he mentions in his book and is fine to promote your own products within the context of your work, but I felt his main exercises in the book lacked guidance without an audio track. He should consider creating a few mp3s that come free with his book that can be downloaded from his site. That would help the student to truly understand what he's aiming for.

All in all, a good read that I will recommend to my friends and students
